Return to Tarot! A Love Bites Special with Reader Sasha Graham

How can tarot cards help us love?!

For our first Love Bites Radio special this season, tarot reader Sasha Graham returns after joining us last year to guide us through how to establish our own personal daily practice, which cards in the deck we should keep an eye out for when seeking peak romance, and how to pull a talisman that will see us through a particular time in our lives.

Sasha's a beautiful speaker and a gifted teacher and reader, and we're thrilled to have her return as we move into this autumn of mysticism and magic!

Listen to the Episode at 4pm Monday, October 2nd and after anytime on Heritage, iTunes, and Stitcher. Then read on for some additional guidance from Sasha as promised on the show!

Sasha's Card-A-Day 101

Pulling a Card-a-Day in an incredible way to learn Tarot, increase personal intuition and open your third eye. It can be incorporated into your morning rituals and is a lovely addition to morning coffee or tea or a yoga practice. It takes about five minutes. Card-a-Day can be performed with either Oracle or Tarot cards.

Think of Your Question: You can ask your cards a simple question like, “What should I focus on today?” Or “What do I need to know?” You can ask a more specific question if you like. Or you can ask nothing at all. You can simple sit and wait to discover what your message is, like a surprise. What ever you’d like to ask, clearly articulate it or better yet, write it down.

Clear Your Mind and Shuffle: Once a question or intention is formulated, forget about it. Clear your mind. The best way to clear headspace is to focus on the breath. Take three deep breaths while you shuffle your cards.

Select a Card and Note What Pops Out: Select you card. Gaze at your card and doing so, note what jumps out at you. What pulls your attention. Do not rush to interpret what you see, sit patiently with it. A character, symbol or feeling may catch your attention. Sit with that emotion or intuitive reaction and let it wash over you. Write down or articulate what you think the card means. Take the card with you for the day or put it to the side.

Evening Check In: During the evening or before bed, check in to discover how your interpretation of the card played out. Did you find further meaning in the card’s advice? Did a psychic flash bear truth? Do you see a new meaning and understanding within the card? Write down your discovery and observation.

The Magician

The Magician is a conduit for Divine energy. The Magician card in any Tarot deck reflects mastery and ability. His posture is drawn with a single hand pointing toward the sky while the other hand points to the ground. He acts like an lightening rod as he pulls energy from above and directs the energy into the ground where it will be manifested in any form he chooses.

The Magician holds all four suits of Tarot his table. This is a reminder that you have all you need before you. He also is able to control the suits as they appear. The suits reflect state of mind, passion, emotion and the ability to transform objects. The four suits on the table are a metaphor for controlling the mind, the heart, the emotions and the world around you. He controls this things not like a tyrant but by controlling his inner state. He defines his world, his world does not define him.

The Magician card is an excellent choice when you want to make something happen, change a behavior or take control of a situation. To invoke the energy of a card, pull it from the deck and place it where you can see it. Conversely, you might pull an electronic version of the image and place it on your phone or desktop. Each and every time you see the card, it will remind you of its energy and imbue you with it’s inner qualities.

Cast your cards well!

About Sasha Graham

Sasha was born just after midnight on a chilly Halloween night in New York state’s Adirondack Mountains. She received a BA in Literature and Religion at Hunter College before beginning her tarot work at the Tarot School and opening a private reading practice.

Sasha quickly found work with the fashion and media set, becoming a staple at Fashion’s Night Out and serving clients such as Alice + Olivia, M. Missoni, The Reformation and Christian Louboutin. Sasha and her work have been featured in documentaries and media outlets such as Sirius XM Radio, The Wall Street Journal, The Daily News, WPIX Channel 11 Morning News, MarieClaire.com and Crain’s New York Business.  She is the author of Llewellyn’s Tarot Diva, 365 Tarot Spreads, and 365 Tarot Spells, and served as editor and contributing writer of Lo Scarabeo’s Tarot Fundamentals, Tarot Experience, and Tarot Compendium.

Sasha is most proud of her Tarot Outreach Program, developed for New York City’s at-risk, inner city youth. Working with kids transitioning out of the foster care system, Sasha used tarot and symbol as the igniting point of nurturing personal intuition. She taught that trust in oneself can be rebuilt. This trust can be used to empower a population robbed of stability and security.

Sasha, her husband, and daughter split their time between Manhattan and the eerily gothic, “Jane Eyre-esque” landscape of upstate New York.  She is working on Llewellyn’s Complete Guide to the Rider Waite Smith Tarot and on her first tarot deck, The Haunted House Tarot, both being released in 2018.

Connect with Sasha on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, as well as on her Blog and at www.SashaGraham.com.
